Education:Medical degree from a recognized university (Master’s degree in Public Health or relevant area and specializes in pediatrics or nutrition is preferred)
Job Description:The Quality Improvement Officer – MD will perform the mentorship visits from health facilities and the health posts; Implement the project activities in the province to ensure quality Child Health & EPI Program, Nutrition, TB services at health facilities; Understand and materialize the concept of Targeted Support Teams (TST) into action through joint planning and implementation with AFIAT staff, PPHO, and other technical officers; Conduct a rapid HQIP assessment of the HFs in providing thematic services; Identify the gaps, facilitate a root cause analysis with the staff, and develop an improvement plan; Conduct follow-up mentoring and coaching visits (four rounds per week) to provide capacity-building support to the healthcare providers in providing thematic services based on HQIP assessment; Develop a monthly work plan for the improvement of clinical and non-clinical weaknesses observed in the targeted HFs in coordination with AFIAT TST members; Produce and submit timely monthly and quarterly reports; Carefully document the “Health Facility Quality Improvement (HFQI) progress sheet” for each activity/result undertaken per health centers visited, and effectively circulate it to ensure AFIAT provincial manager, CB officers, and relevant stakeholders use data; Closely collaborate and coordinate with AFIAT officers to strengthen the links between health centers visited and their communities; Work with AFIAT Community Health Officers (CHO) to implement project activities in targeted health posts; Lead initiation of dialogue with local communities regarding TST support: Work with local communities to improve their participation in TSTs and other provincial-level platforms. Support local communities and the health Shura representative in their role while serving as TST members. Work with local communities to prepare them for the HQIP rapid assessment and follow-up TST visits at the community/HPs level. With support from AFIAT officers to introduce and implement the community Dialogue Plus (CD+), Electronic Community Health Accountability Monitoring Tools (e-CHAMT). Any other relevant activities deemed needed by the program
Job Requirements:Medical degree from a recognized university Master’s degree in Public Health or relevant area and specializes in pediatrics or nutrition is preferred. Five years’ experience in designing, implementing and evaluating thematic programs at the provincial hospital, BPHS health facility, and community levels. Previous experience in community-based health care is a plus. Fluency in written and spoken local language; Having skills in computer applications such as Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Word. Ability and willingness to travel to rural locations; Knowledge of local environments;
