AADA Enhances Healthcare Services in Farah with Cooling Equipment and RMNCH Section Improvements

As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening healthcare services, AADA has provided cooling equipment and facility improvement materials to five health facilities in Farah Province. Farah is known for its extremely hot climate, with summer temperatures often exceeding 45°C (113°F), creating significant challenges for patient comfort and health facility operations.

To address these challenges, AADA supplied water coolers, solar panels, and electric fans for pharmacies and other key service areas. Additional improvements included window shades and ventilation enhancements designed to create a safer and more comfortable environment for both healthcare workers and patients.

These cooling interventions help improve infection prevention, staff productivity, patient comfort, and the safe storage of temperature-sensitive medicines.

In addition, AADA upgraded the lighting system in the Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (RMNCH) sections, ensuring uninterrupted delivery of essential healthcare services during night shifts.

Previously, healthcare staff were forced to rely on flashlights due to inadequate lighting, increasing risks for mothers in labor and newborns requiring urgent medical attention. With the new lighting system, healthcare providers can now safely conduct deliveries, newborn resuscitation, and postnatal care at any time of day or night.

The upgraded RMNCH sections improve maternal and newborn health services and remove a critical barrier to quality healthcare access in remote areas of Farah Province.

Together, these improvements strengthen healthcare service quality, enhance patient comfort, support effective medicine management, and improve working conditions for frontline healthcare workers. By addressing both extreme heat and inadequate nighttime lighting, AADA is tackling two often-overlooked but essential factors that directly affect healthcare delivery.

Through these infrastructure investments, AADA continues to demonstrate its commitment to building resilient health facilities and improving access to safe, quality healthcare services for communities across Farah Province.
