Project Title: Health Emergency Response Project Additional Financing (HER AF)
Project Overview: The HER AF project aims to deliver the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) and Essential Package of Hospital Services (EPHS) in Nuristan, Afghanistan, focusing on ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare amid growing humanitarian needs.
Objectives:
- To manage the equitable and uninterrupted delivery of quality BPHS through primary healthcare facilities, including district hospitals.
- To manage the equitable and uninterrupted delivery of quality EPHS through provincial and regional hospitals.
- To strengthen community nutrition outreach and overall health service delivery by enhancing performance management and quality of care.
Target Audience: The intended beneficiaries include approximately 17.9 million people in need of health services and 7.4 million in need of nutrition assistance across Afghanistan, with a specific focus on vulnerable populations in Nuristan province.
Key Activities:
- Provision of comprehensive maternal and newborn care services at all health facilities.
- Implementation of regional health programs aimed at improving child health and nutrition.
- Continuous training and capacity building for health workers and nutrition counselors to enhance service delivery.
Timeline:
