Appreciating the women employees, AADA celebrated March 8,the International Women’s Day. This event was started by speech from AADA founder, Dr. Jamaluddin Jawid; beside appreciation of the working women, he explained the history of this day. He stated that “the earliest celebration was held as a Socialist political event in 1909.
It blended the culture of many countries primarily in Europe. It is now celebrated in many Eastern countries, including Afghanistan. In different parts of the world, the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women for their economic, political and social achievements.
In some countries, the day lost its political flavor and became simply an occasion for people to express their love for women in a way somewhat similar to Mother's Day. However, in some parts of the world, the political and human rights theme runs strong political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner.” The event ended by presenting gifts to the female staff of the organization.
