Dr. Yasamin Yousofzai MD, MPH
Program Development Director
Dr. Yasamin Yousofzai is a public health and institutional development expert working in Afghanistan since 1990. Holding an MD degree from Kabul Medical Institute (February 1990), she obtained Masters of Public Health degree from Institute of Management Sciences Pakistan in 2008. She has attended numerous short and medium courses in management,
leadership, organizational development, communication and public health topics inside Afghanistan and abroad. After almost 12 years of service with the government of Afghanistan as clinical doctor and medical instructor/lecturer, she has been working in non-governmental sector in various positions since 2002. She has held positions of manager, director and advisor with Afghan Red Crescent Society (ARCS) and Agency for Assistance and Development of Afghanistan (AADA).
Her areas of expertise consist of public health management, institutional development and communication. She has designed, managed and evaluated public health, training and community development projects in different provinces of Afghanistan. Owing to her outstanding analytical and formulation skills, she has mostly held technical positions during her NGO endeavor. She was responsible for management of BPHS projects of AADA for more than four years. Since July 2015, she is working as Program Development Director with AADA.
