Dr. S. Ashrafuddin Aini
Dr Said Ashrafuddin Aini is a Public Health expert working in Afghanistan since 1992. Dr Aini holds MD degree and has attended multiple short/medium term trainings in Public Health, Leadership, Organization Development, Project Management, Hospital Management, Communication, and Financial Sustainability inside and outside the country. He is currently doing his MPH as distance at Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi, India.
Dr Aini has worked as EPI Manager and Deputy Provincial Health Director with MoPH, Health Officer in UNICEF Regional Office in Kunduz, Provincial Hospital Director in Hospital Reform Project of MoPH, EPI Director of MoPH, Medical Coordinator and Country Director of MRCA (French NGO) in Afghanistan.
During his work over the past almost two decades, he has been deeply involved in the management of health care services delivery, monitoring & evaluation, operation & program development, strategic planning, organization governance, and has tremendous experience in BPHS/EPHS implementation in different parts of the country. He has received official recognitions for his high performance including the Best Performance award in Hospital Management (EPHS implementation) in Afghanistan (2008).
Some of his experience in emergency and disaster response includes emergency assistance to refugees in North East of Afghanistan (with UNICEF in 2001), earthquake in North East of Afghanistan (with MoPH), and emergency assistance to drought affected communities.
Dr Aini joined AADA in May 2011 as General Director and is responsible for overall management of AADA projects and activities in Afghanistan.
