AADA with financial support from BMZ/The Johanniter in partnership with the Provincial Public Health Directorate, and the Balkh Institute of Health Sciences (IHS) is supporting implementation of Midwifery department of Balkh IHS to contribute to the national strategy for reducing maternal and newborn mortality in Afghanistan, by strengthening and supporting midwifery education.
While AADA has experience of successful implementation of eight Community Midwifery Education program, this is one of the most rewarding experience so far. Balkh IHS Midwifery program achieved 100% of Midwifery Education Standards through an external assessment done by Afghanistan Midwifery Education Accreditation Board/MoPH, and received the award of best performance presented by H.E. Dr. Najia Tariq, Deputy Minister of Ministry of Public Health. Deputy Minister appreciated AADA and IHS management team for their tireless efforts in successful implementation of the program.
