AADA provides 52 new motorbikes for Takhar health facilities to enhance outreach vaccination

Primary prevention through administration of specific antigen (vaccines) is the back bone of public health interventions in Afghanistan to save mothers and children. Fixed, outreach and mobile vaccination are the major approaches for achieving vaccine universal coverage. Outreach and mobile vaccination requires proper transportation means to reach remote villages. Motorbikes are proved to be the most useful vehicle especially for reaching scattered villages in harsh terrain; thus AADA procured 52 new motorbikes for 50 EPI centers located in 17 districts all over Takhar province (3 DHs, 1 CHC+, 12 CHCs, 34 BHCs). On Oct 02, 2016 a ceremony was organized in AADA Takhar field office where Takhar Deputy Governor (Mohammad Farid Zaki), Head of Takhar Provincial Council (Arbab Rohullah), Takhar Public Health Director (Dr. Hafizullah Safi), AADA provincial management team and media attended. "We do appreciate the efforts and dedication of AADA for improving health care services in Takhar province" said the deputy governor of Takhar.
